A joint session of parliament will likely to extend Governor�s rule in Balochsitan.

 

QUETTA (Dunya News): The governor rule is likely to be extended in Blochistan as the Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani has declined to step down. According to Media Reports, the situation in the province stands all the more complicated as the chief minister is not willing to dissolve the assembly before the stipulated time.

 

The parliamentarians hailing from the province sat with Khurshid Shah in the chair in the federal capital but to no avail, as the members demanded Chief Minister Aslam Khan Raisani to resign from his office; but he bristled at their demand.

 

The sources said Raisani insisted Balochistan assembly to go complete length of its term, saying he will not move any advice to the governor for the dissolution of assembly prior to April 6.

 

The sources further said another effort will be made to bring him round today, in case he baulks, then the governor rule will be extended in a joint session of the Parliament to be called on March 14.

 

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari chaired a high level meeting at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday. According to sources current situation in Balochistan came under discussion during the meeting.

 

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf apprised the meeting about his discussion with Governor Balochistan. After detailed discussion it was decided that the governor rule will be extended in Blochistan and the upcoming elections in the province will be held under governor’s rule.
